Evangelist Harold Hunter, Th.D.
Dr. Hunter was a Southern Baptist pastor for 28 years. His last pastorate was the 5,100-member North Jacksonville Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Under his leadership, the church relocated its entire facility to a 43-acre site, building a 3,400-seat, multi-million dollar complex. He entered full-time evangelism in January, 1991.

Harold Hunter was born in Cookeville, Tennessee, on February 22, 1945. He and his wife, Marilyn, have two sons, Chad and Braxton.
He accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of eight, felt the call into the ministry at the age of sixteen, and was ordained at the age of seventeen. During his collegiate days, he pastored the Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Cookeville, Tennessee.
Dr. Hunter received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville, Tennessee; his Doctor of Theology from Trinity Theological Seminary, Newburgh, Indiana; and his Doctor of Ministry from Luther Rice Seminary, Jacksonville, Florida.
He pastored churches in Tennessee from 1962 until 1981 when he accepted the call to the over 5,000-member North Jacksonville Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida, where he served until January, 1991, when he entered full-time evangelism.
Dr. Hunter is the author of six books, has produced a musical album, sung with nationally known gospel quartets, written many newspaper articles, and done extensive radio and television productions. He co-hosted several television telethons, one with Debby Boone and one with Art Linkletter. He has appeared in television forums and was often asked to comment on current issues for local newspapers. The worship services of North Jacksonville Baptist Church were telecast three times weekly and received the No. 1 rating of all religious telecasts in the Jacksonville area according to Arbitron Ratings. He also hosted a daily call-in radio broadcast entitled, "Let's Ask the Pastor," where he gave on-the-spot answers to Bible questions and has been key-note speaker at seminars for state and convention evangelism conferences. He has been tour leader on six Middle East and European tours.
Dr. Hunter is now the full-time evangelist and Vice President of Trinity Crusades for Christ, a division of Trinity College and Seminary, Newburgh, Indiana.
His crusades have resulted in record-setting attendances in every place he has preached. He has been called a modern-day Billy Sunday because of his boundless pulpit energy and his unlimited enthusiasm. His attack on sin is balanced by his love for the sinner.
